RATINGS

98Vinous / IWC

Expansive, spice- and mineral-accented aromas of black raspberry, cherry and blueberry, along with suggestions of exotic spices, succulent herbs and lavender oil. Stains the palate with intense red fruit, spicecake, floral pastille and freshly turned earth flavors, showing a compelling blend of power and delicacy. Displays fine clarity and vibrant cut and finishes extremely long and precise, with supple tannins and resonating spice and floral notes.

95James Suckling

A beautiful wine with dried strawberries and crushed salt. Clay. Terra cotta. Red salt. Medium body. Tight and firm. Flavorful finish. Solid and balanced garnacha.

PRODUCER

Comando G.

Comando G was founded by friends Daniel Jimenez-Landi and Fernando Garcia, who met while studying at the University of Madrid. The vineyard stretches 10 hectares and is organically and biodynamically farmed. Vines range in age from 50 - 80 years old and are planted in granite, slate, and quartz dominant soils. Fruit is always harvested by hand and each bottling is single-vineyard, as they seek to bring out the unique nuances from each of their plots. Bid on Comando G wines in auction today!

TYPE

Red Wine, Grenache

One of the most popular red varieties planted, it ripens late and prefers hot dry climates. It probably originated in Spain, where it is still widely grown. Grenache is best known for its use in Southern Rhone wines, including those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
