RATINGS

96James Suckling

...perfumed garnacha with aromas of redcurrants, melon, pomegranate, lemon and rosemary. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and lively acidity. Bright and pure. Juicy and fleshy with soft power. Balanced and delicate with an infused character. Spicy and flavorful, long finish.

94+ The Wine Advocate

...notes of sweet spices and red translucent berries...pungent flavors and a persistence that defies the apparent ethereal character of the wine.

18Jancis Robinson

Reductive touches of ash and gunpowder paired with pepper and some metallic scents. On the palate, it is fluid, and very, very aerial. Long, with freshness and good precision.

PRODUCER

Comando G.

Comando G was founded by friends Daniel Jimenez-Landi and Fernando Garcia, who met while studying at the University of Madrid. The vineyard stretches 10 hectares and is organically and biodynamically farmed. Vines range in age from 50 - 80 years old and are planted in granite, slate, and quartz dominant soils. Fruit is always harvested by hand and each bottling is single-vineyard, as they seek to bring out the unique nuances from each of their plots. Bid on Comando G wines in auction today!

TYPE

Red Wine, Grenache

One of the most popular red varieties planted, it ripens late and prefers hot dry climates. It probably originated in Spain, where it is still widely grown. Grenache is best known for its use in Southern Rhone wines, including those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
