RATINGS

93Wine Spectator

Fleeting aromas of rose, black currant and mineral highlight this supple, intense red. It's saturated with dark fruit, stone and spice flavors that extend on the long finish.

91+ The Wine Advocate

...lovely aromas of cherries, berries, sweet soil tones, licorice and spices. Medium to full-bodied, this is a fleshy and enveloping wine, with an ample core of fruit, succulent acids and fine, powdery tannins...

15.5Jancis Robinson

Ripe and open if a little simple on the nose. The palate brings grip and bite that dominates the fruit a little, but there is a bright core of red berries and raspberry jam. Quite a chalky impression on the finish.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Les Bas Des Teurons

Les Bas des Teurons is a 15.7-acre Premier Cru vineyard located in the central part the Beaune appellation, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Though Beaune has no Grand Cru vineyards, it has 44 vineyards that are either partly or completely Premier Cru. Clive Coates has written that in the central section of the Beaune appellation is “where you will find the finest examples of premier cru in Beaune.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
