RATINGS

99The Wine Advocate

It's complex and elegant, very Burgundian, stony, floral and spicy, and the good yields controlled the ripeness of the dry year.

97Vinous / IWC

Intensely perfumed, expansive red berry preserve, potpourri, exotic spice and succulent herb aromas... Sappy, penetrating and sharply defined on the palate, offering vibrant, mineral-tinged raspberry, bitter cherry, blood orange and lavender pastille flavors that deepen and turn sweeter on the back half. Shows superb energy and floral lift on the wonderfully long, subtly tannic finish, which leaves behind notes of candied red fruits, botanical herbs and star anise.

96James Suckling

Aromas of dried meat, spice, berry and chocolate. Some dried earth. Full-bodied, chewy and tannic with density and richness. Lots of walnut and cedar undertones. Very structured and serious.

PRODUCER

Comando G.

Comando G was founded by friends Daniel Jimenez-Landi and Fernando Garcia, who met while studying at the University of Madrid. The vineyard stretches 10 hectares and is organically and biodynamically farmed. Vines range in age from 50 - 80 years old and are planted in granite, slate, and quartz dominant soils. Fruit is always harvested by hand and each bottling is single-vineyard, as they seek to bring out the unique nuances from each of their plots. Bid on Comando G wines in auction today!

TYPE

Red Wine, Grenache

One of the most popular red varieties planted, it ripens late and prefers hot dry climates. It probably originated in Spain, where it is still widely grown. Grenache is best known for its use in Southern Rhone wines, including those of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
