RATINGS

93James Suckling

...fine citrus, stones and bright, ripe peaches, leading to a very assertive and concentrated palate with great richness and acidity, driving long and deep. The power here is exceptional.

92-94The Wine Advocate

Aromas of ripe lemons, praline, crushed chalk and white flowers...medium to full-bodied, pure and chiseled wine with lovely mid-palate amplitude, a bright line of acidity...

92Burghound.com

...there is very good volume to the surprisingly lush, even opulent, middle weight flavors though there is plenty of the hallmark minerality suffusing the well-balanced bitter lemon-inflected finish.

90-92Vinous / IWC

...palate is fresh on the entry, offering light orange pith, apricot and white peach notes...spicy finish that lingers in the mouth. Fine.

17Jancis Robinson

Crunchy green apple, smoky notes on the finish with medium body and good core-fruit power...attractive stony character lingering beneath...

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Meursault, Les Perrieres

Les Perrieres is 34-acre Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. The vineyard includes several sub parcels. They are the 2.4-acre monopole Clos des Perrieres, which belongs to Domaine Albert Grivault, and Les Perrieres Dessous. Because Les Perrieres is in southern Meursault next to Puligny, the Les Perrieres Meursaults are considered to have more minerality than other Meursaults. Burgundy writer Clive Coates has noted that “Perrieres is perhaps the most elegant and persistent of the premier crus. At its best, it is positively brilliant…” Since Meursault lacks a Grand Cru, Meursault’s reputation for excellence is based on the Premier Crus, particularly the whites.

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
