Unfurling in the glass with rich aromas of black fruits, cigar smoke, loamy soil, black truffle, peat and pencil shavings, it's full-bodied, broad and concentrated, with a deep core of fruit, ripe tannins and a long, expansive finish.
...has this incredible sense of richness and intensity paired with off-the-charts complexity and elegance. Possessing a quintessential Pessac nose of blackcurrants, smoked earth, freshly sharpened cedar pencils, and sweet tobacco, this beauty hits the palate with a full-bodied ethereal style offering resolved tannins, a beautifully concentrated mouthfeel, a stacked mid-palate, and a distinct sense of salinity on the finish.
La Mission really does have its own character. Full body with velvety tannins with hints of berry, gravel and iodine. Some may not like the later but it tells you it’s La Mission. What a wine.
Lifted and perfumed on the nose, fresh and ripe red fruit combine with floral scents. Smooth and supple, lively and fun on the palate with baked cherries, wet soil, sweet tobacco and gorgeous sweet, ripe strawberries. Amazing acidity, sour almost, but sleek, high toned but juicy and mineral. I love the stony, chalky texture on the finish. Extremely charming...
Exotic yet lively aromas of roasted plum, marzipan and grilled nuts. Wonderfully dense but sappy, with grip of steel.
Thick and sweet...developed in the glass to something gorgeous... Inky and fresh with quite a dry, but not drying, finish.
Beautiful aromas of berries and stones, with a hint of black truffles.
Quite exotic on the nose... There is that signature eucalyptus touch on the nose mixed with plenty of black fruit...palate is powerful with pliant tannins, quite candied with just a touch of menthol, hints of blue fruit emerging towards the finish. Fine salinity throughout...
