Dr. Owen Bargreen

Owen is the founder/executive editor of OwenBargreen.com, formerly Washington Wine Blog. He is a Level 2 Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommeliers who writes part time for Decanter Magazine. He has been writing about wine for more than ten years and has reviewed thousands of wines from around the world. Owen has also traveled extensively in Washington, Oregon and California, as well as throughout wine regions of the world, including the Bordeaux and the Rhone valley in France, Spain, Germany and Italy. He speaks German, Italian and English.

Steve and Bridgit Griessel

The managing owners of Betz Family, Steve and Bridgit are thrilled to be part of the next chapter of Betz Family Winery. They live at the winery and have 3 children and are dedicated to ensuring that the company is true to its heritage, culture, winemaking principles and patient growth, teaming with Bob who continues to be the founding owner and consulting winemaker.

Louis Skinner

Louis Skinner was promoted to winemaker at Betz in 2016. Louis began his career in wine in the early 2000s by taking the Enology and Viticulture program at South Seattle Community College, after holding a sales position for the eastside wine merchant, Fine Wines. For several years, Louis divided his time between school, the wine shop, and industry tastings. Louis worked an internship with Betz Family in 2010, and then worked for DeLille Cellars for a few years before returning to Betz Family.
