Crocker & Starr

Crocker & Starr was established in 1971 when San Francisco businessman Charlie Crocker bought the 19th century Dowdell & Sons winery in St. Helena. The estate didn’t start producing wine for the market until the late 1990s, after he teamed up with winemaker Pam Starr to create the winery. The first commercial vintage the 1997 Cabernet Franc. Today the estate has 100 acres and produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Wine Advocate has often rated the estate’s wines in the mid-90s.
