Château Angelus is one of the most romantically-named of all the Bordeaux chateaux. It is named for a vineyard where you can simultaneously hear the daily devotional ringing of the Angelus bells from three nearby catholic churches.
The Detert Family has been growing grapes on their 50 acres of To Kalon Vineyard since 1954, for decades selling the grapes to Robert Mondavi and other producers. Today the family also produces wines from legendary To Kalon under their own label.
