Château Marsau is in the small, little-known Côtes de Francs appellation east of St.-Émilion. Robert M. Parker Jr. has called the wines of the château “Pomerol look-alikes” that offer consistently high quality.
Tusk Estates is one of Napa Valley’s 21st century cult wines. Founded in 2007 by a trio of entrepreneurs with deep ties to fine food and wine, Tusk produces a mere 150 cases a year. One of the founders is famed French winemaker Philippe Melka.
Château d’Armailhac was purchased by Baron Philippe de Rothschild in 1933. The Baron later named it Mouton-Baronne-Philippe to honor his wife. Since 1989 it has once again been called Château d’Armailhac and it remains owned by the de Rothschilds.
