Founded in 1898 in Chateauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhone Valley, the domaine was named for a nearby early 19th-century telegraph relay tower. Still run by the same family, Vieux Telegraphe is one of the appellation’s most legendary estates.
The Incisa della Rocchetta family released its first commercial wine until 1968, when the Tenuta San Guido estate debuted Sassicaia. Sassicaia became an international star when Robert Parker awarded the 1985 vintage with 100 pts.
