Robert Mondavi was Napa Valley’s most passionate ambassador and his winery is still one of the best known in California. Although the winery is no longer family owned, his children continue his legacy in winemaking.
A Grand Cru of St.-Emilion, Quinault L’Enclos is produced in a 17th century estate. LVMH’s Bernard Arnault and Albert Frere purchased it in 2008, revived the wine and now produce 60,000 bottles a year.
Alpha Omega in Rutherford was founded by Robin Baggett and Eric Sklar. The winemaker is Jean Hoefliger and French wine consultant Michel Rolland is involved too. The wines often earn scores in the mid-90s.
