Big Table Farm started in 2006 when Brian Marcy and Clare Carver uprooted themselves from Napa to farm 70 acres in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and they've already earned kudos. The New York Times called Big Table Farm “an up-and-coming producer.”
Château Figeac traces its history to the second century, when a Roman named Figeacus built an estate on the site. Today it is owned by the Manoncourt family and grows a significant amount of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is unusual for the appellation.
The king of Sauternes, Château d’Yquem is the only wine in the appellation to receive a First Growth distinction. According to local lore, it was the proprietors of this estate who first recognized the value of “noble rot.”
