Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair was created in 2000 by Louis-Michel Liger-Belair from vineyards that have been in his family since the early 19th century. Clive Coates notes that “These are elegant, finely tuned and very pure wines.”
Founder Randy Dunn worked for years at Caymus and purchased a vineyard on Howell Mountain in 1978. He and his wife make Cabs, which are some of the most consistent and well-made in Napa Valley.
Beaulieu Vineyards is often called “BV,” but it was formally named after the “beautiful place” it was founded. Georges de Latour dreamed of a serene and scenic estate and then made his dreams come true.
