Darioush Khaledi grew up in Iran’s Shiraz winemaking region, where his father made wine as a hobby. Years later, after building a California grocery store chain, Darioush too turned to winemaking, producing luxury cuvées In Napa Valley.
Produttori del Barbaresco is a cooperative founded in 1958 to help grape growers promote their wines. Today each family in the coop grows grapes but the award-winning wines are made at a central winery. They are gold standards for the appellation.
Like many of France’s historic producers, Domaine Comte de Georges de Vogue has been in the same family for more than 500 years. Comte de Vogue’s premier wine is Musigny Vieilles Vignes, though the domaine also make Chardonnay and other Pinot Noirs.
