Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair was created in 2000 by Louis-Michel Liger-Belair from vineyards that have been in his family since the early 19th century. Clive Coates notes that “These are elegant, finely tuned and very pure wines.”
Clos Fourtet is a 45-acre estate owned by Philippe Cuvelier, who also owns Chateau Poujeaux. Robert M. Parker Jr. notes that the estate “has been resurrected” by Cuvelier and is producing wines with “striking richness.”
This Burgundian style Russian River Valley wine has achieved “Cult Chardonnay” status and Grand Cru character. Kistler is known for Chardonnay but also makes a great Pinot Noir.
