Seaver Vineyards in Calistoga was founded by Tom and Nancy Seaver. Tom Seaver is a former major league baseball player best known for his highly successful career as a pitcher for the New York Mets. In 1998 the Seavers bought 116 acres on Diamond Mountain in Calistoga and in 2000 they began planting vineyards. The Seavers hired Thomas Rivers Brown as winemaker and Barbour Vineyards as the vineyard management team. Seaver Vineyards’ debut vintage was a 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate makes 400 – 500 cases a year from its 3.5-acre vineyards.
