Rutz Cellars was started in 1992 by Keith Rutz, whose passion for Burgundy inspired him to make California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the tradition of his favorite Burgundian wines. At his Sebastopol winery he makes small batch cuvées, including single-vineyard bottlings. A one-time fashion industry entrepreneur, Rutz is the winemaker for his estate.
