Poet’s Leap is one of the wines produced under the collaborative winemaking program at Long Shadows, in Columbia Valley. Long Shadows was started in 2003 by Allen Shoup, former president and CEO of Chateau Ste. Michelle, and at Long Shadows he invites some of the world’s most renowned winemakers to collaborate as “guest” winemakers using grapes from the Columbia Valley. Poet’s Leap is made at Long Shadows by Armin Diel, one of Germany’s most admired Riesling makes. Diel’s family has owned Schlossgut Diel, a legendary wine estate, for more than 200 years. Poet’s Leap is a 100% Riesling that perennially wins ratings in the 90s from reviewers.
