Rasa Vineyards was started in 2007 when brothers Pinto and Billo Naravane left successful careers in technology to dive into a business they’d always dreamed about – winemaking. Both brothers earned advanced degrees in electrical engineering and Billo also completed an advanced degree in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis. The Walla Walla winery has estate vineyards and also sources grapes from other Walla Walla vineyards. Rasa Vineyards’ goal is to make premium, terroir-specific wines. Rasa makes Rhone-style blends, Syrah, Bordeaux blends, Grenache, Mourvedre, Chardonnay and Riesling. Wine Reviewers have noted the brothers’ ability to make classically expressive wines. Wine Advocate wrote that the brothers “offer up full-throttle, textured (wines) that remain balanced and approachable.”
