Hooper’s is one of Portugal’s venerable Port houses. It was founded in 1771 by Richard Hooper, a London wine merchant, In 1951 it was bought by Real Companhia Velha, a Portuguese company that also owns Royal Oporto and other Port and fine spirits brands.
