Contratto is a large Italian producer of wines and Vermouth based in Canelli. It was originally called Giuseppe Contratto and was founded by Giuseppe Contratto in 1867 to make sparkling wine. By the early 20th century the company was famous for its Moscato and a sparkling wine it called Asti Champagne. The company also began making still wines. In 1993 Contratto was purchased by La Spinetta. Today the company makes only sparkling wines.
