Gianfranco Alessandria

Gianfranco Alessandria is a 15-acre estate in Monforte d’Alba, in Italy's Barolo region. It was founded in the mid-20th century by the Alessandria family, and is today owned and operated by Gianfranco Alessandria, his wife and daughter. The estate grows Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto and produces about 45,000 bottles annually. Flagship wines are the Barolo San Giovanni and the Barbera d’Alba Vittoria, named for his daughter. Gambero Rosso has often awarded the Barolos from this estate three bicchiere, or three wine glasses, which is the journal’s highest rating.
