Daniel Gomez Jimenez-Landi

Daniel Gomez Jimenez-Landi was for many years the winemaker at Bodegas Jimenz-Landi, a company he formed with a cousin. But in 2012 Gomez Jimenez-Landi decided to create his own label sourcing grapes from land he inherited as well as a few select, high altitude vineyards of Garnacha and Albillo he acquired in the Sierra de Gredos. He works a total of 20 vineyard acres, some at altitudes of 3,200 feet. The vines are 60 to 80 years old. Daniel, a rising star of the Spanish winemaking world, is also one of the winemakers behind Comando G, a label focused on making old-vine Garnacha. Wine Advocate has rated his wines in the mid-90s and complimented a recent vintage for “a very Burgundian nose with flinty minerality,”
