Chateau de la Negly is in Coteaux du Languedoc La Clape, on France’s southwestern Mediterranean Coast. It is owned by Jean-Paul Rosset and Cyril Charmontin is winemaker. Rosset’s family has long owned the estate, but the grapes were sold to the local cooperative until Jean-Paul took over and began bottling the estate’s wines. The estate makes red and white wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. has written that over the last decade, Rosset and Charmontin “have set new standards for the entire Languedoc. Plush, polished and often heady…these wines make voluminous statements.”
