Château Boyd-Cantenac

Château Boyd-Cantenac is a 42-acre estate in Cantenac, Margaux. It is a third growth estate according to the Bordeaux classification of 1855. It was established in the 18th century by the Boyd family of Ireland, though it was later owned by John Lewis-Brown, who was related by marriage to the Boyds and who also owned Château Cantenac-Brown. In 1932 the Guillemet family purchased the estate, and they still run it today. The wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. About 70,000 bottles are produced a year. The second label is Jacques Boyd.
