Domain Charles Joguet was founded in 1957 in the Chinon appellation, in the heart of the Loire Valley. The domain has about 110 acres of vineyards planted to Cabernet Franc, and 9 acres planted to Chenin blanc and Pineau de la Loire. The owner of the domaine is Jacques Genet, who became Charles Joguet’s business partner in 1985. Many wine writers consider Domain Charles Joguet to be the best producer of Chinon wines. Robert M. Parker Jr. has noted that the estate’s “oldest and most famous vines are in the Clos de la Dioterie.” The estate’s Chinon Clos de la Dioterie Vieilles Vignes is it’s signature wine.
