Bodegas Emilio Moro, in Penafiel, in the Pesquera del Duero region of Spain, is owned and operated by Emilio Moro and his family. Though Moro’s ancestors had been making wine in the region for more than a century and also growing grapes for other estates, Moro started his own commercial enterprise in 1987. The 260 acres of vineyards are planted entirely to Tempranillo. There are several bottlings and the three Malleolus bottlings, in particular, are highly praised by wine writers.
