Agharta Wines is in Forestville, in Sonoma County. It was founded by Pax Mahle, who made a reputation as a maker of Syrah at Pax Wine Cellars, which he founded. Mahle named Agharta after a jazz piece by trumpeter Miles Davis and has focused his Agharta wines on producing Bordeaux and Rhone Valley style wines. Agharta makes Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and red and white blends.
