Celani Family Vineyards is a 17-acre estate in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains. It was founded by Tom Celani, the grandson of an Italian immigrant who made his own table wine. Tom Celani founded and ran a major beer distributorship in Detroit before pursuing his interest in wine and his winemaking heritage by starting his own winemaking venture. The estate produces Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, blends and rosé. Napa winemaking star Mark Herold in Celani’s winemaking consultant, and the wines often win scores in the mid to high 90s from reviewers. Ardore is Celani’s flagship Cabernet Sauvignon, and Vinous described a recent vintage as “rich, ripe, voluptuous and opulent.”
