Thick, rich and honeylike. Beautiful aromas of honey, spice and coconut with lots of dried apricot. Full-bodied, very thick and sweet, with loads of pineapple, honey and toffee character on the palate. Drink now.

PRODUCER

Tirecul La Graviere

Chateau Tirecul La Graviere is a 20-acre estate near the town of Bergerac, in the Monbazillac AOC. By the 18th century the region was famous for its white dessert wines, but changing tastes and a lack of quality standards by producers resulted in diminishing interest in the wines. In recent decades a new generation of producers has put the region’s dessert wines back on the map, and among those producers are Claudie and Bruno Bilancini, a couple who in 1992 began working vineyards from the historic Chateau Tirecule La Graviere. Their first vintages were commercially successful and in 1997 the couple purchased the estate. The estate produces several dessert wines and a dry white wine, all made from Semillon and Muscadelle. Jancis Robinson and other reviewers have complimented the wines.
