RATINGS

97Vinous / IWC

I am blown away by the sheer balance, purity and harmony of what is in the glass.

97Burghound.com

...This impeccably poised, brilliantly concentrated yet understated effort is a textbook example of Les Preuses with its Zen-like harmony and sheer class. Along with the Les Clos, this is arguably one of the very best wines of the vintage.

96+ Stephen Tanzer

... Knockout nose melds pineapple, white peach, lemon oil, wild herbs, flowers and cut hay, plus a whiff of menthol. Wonderfully silky, dense and pure, with subtle sweetness cut by brilliant acidity. Utterly electric Chablis...

95The Wine Advocate

Struck flint smokiness and fusil notes lend persistent pungency and bittersweet floral perfume further allure, while fresh citrus serves for luscious refreshment.

17.5Jancis Robinson

Intense if not expressive on the nose, a little herbal and stony. Very creamy texture but in balance with the freshness. Clear, determined citrus streak along with the classic mineral core, though the oak softens the minerality. (JH)

PRODUCER

William Fevre

Domaine William Fevre is a 120-acre domaine in Chablis, Burgundy. The Fevre family has been in Chablis for more than two centuries and for much of the 20th century their Chablis wines have been highly sought after. The estate has Grand Cru parcels in Bougros, Les Clos, Grenouilles, Les Preuses, Valmur and Vaudesir, as well as premier cru parcels. In 1998 when William Fevre retired the domaine was sold to Henriot Champagne, already the proprietors of Bouchard Pere et Fils. Burgundy writer Clive Coates notes that when it was sold “it was first class operation then; it is even better now….This is a classy setup, producing very classy wines.” There is also a William Fevre negociant.
