RATINGS

**IWC - David Schildknecht

...red raspberry and molten minerals flow over the palate, but the sheer intensity here is matched by and elegance of lightness of touch...The balance of acid and sugar is perfect, so that the sweetness drops away completely in the back...

97Robert M. Parker Jr.

...exhibits aromas and flavors of cherry-drenched quartz, raspberries, minerals, as well as steel. Medium-bodied, muscular, powerful, and masculine, it is an oily-textured, broad-shouldered wine of spectacular depth and length...

92Wine Spectator

Tangy and vivid in structure, this is like a jolt of peach, tropical fruit, spice and mineral. Taut and racy, it packs a lot of flavor into its sleek frame. Long, fruit-cocktail aftertaste.

PRODUCER

H. Donnhoff

H. Donnhoff is a 32-acre estate in Oberhausen/Nahe, in southwestern Germany. The appellation is the very small Nahe appellation, and Helmut Donnhoff has been making noteworthy wines on his steep hillside vineyards there for more than 30 years. The estate itself has been in his family since 1750. Vineyards are planted to 75% Riesling, 25% Weissburgunder and Granburgunder. About 7,000 bottles are produced annually. Wine writer Hugh Johnson described Helmut Donnhoff as having “a fanatical commitment to quality, and a remarkable natural talent for winemaking.” The estate’s Rieslings are considered among the world’s best.
