Not overly sweet, this strikes a lovely balance between a core of rich cherry fruit and shadings of almond and cedar as the flavors linger on the finish.

PRODUCER

Rosemount Estate was founded in 1974 and is a large producer with some 22,000 acres of vineyards. More than half the estate is planted to Shiraz, with the remainder in Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and other varietals. Randall Cummins is winemaker, and the estate makes a large portfolio of wines. The estate is owned by Treasury Wine Estates, an Australian-based, global winemaking and distribution corporation. Its labels include Lindemans and Penfold Wines.
