RATINGS

90Wine Spectator

Firm and smoky, with tobacco, sage, currant and bacon notes. Smoky, peppery finish.

90Stephen Tanzer

Musky black raspberry, cassis, chocolate and sexy, smoky French oak on the nose. Lush, primary and superconcentrated; velvety and broad but with a restrained sweetness...

PRODUCER

Remhoogte

Remhoogte is just outside of Stellenbosch, in South Africa. It was purchased in 1994 by Murray and Juliet Boustred, who planted new vineyards and built a new cellar. Their debut vintage was the 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate’s 88 acres of vineyards are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinotage, Shiraz and a small amount of Chenin Blanc. Remhoogte makes a sizable portfolio of wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Bordeaux blends, Syrah, Shiraz and Chenin Blanc.
