PRODUCER

Anne-Carole et Conrad Caloz

Anne-Carole et Conrad Caloz was founded in Le Valais, Switzerland, 1960 by Fernand Caloz, who spent the next decade planting vineyards. In 1970 he released his first wines for the market. In 1987 his son Conrad and daughter-in-law Anne-Carole took over the family business. The artisanal estate makes red, white and sparkling wines ranging from Gamay and Pinot Noir to Cabernet France and Marsanne.

TYPE

Red Wine, Gamay

The Gamay grape produces a light, versatile and food-friendly wine. It is best known for making Beaujolais Nouveau, but it is also grown in Loire and Tours. Thankfully the 14th C. Duke of Burgundy’s degree to ban the grape did not spread through all of France.
