Aperture Cellars is based in Healdsburg, Sonoma County, and features a range of Bordeaux-styled wines from vineyards throughout the Sonoma Valley. Founded in 2009 by winemaker Jesse Katz, Aperture wines are crafted from unique, cool-climate vineyards – there are 140+ acres of vines, in addition to their 32 planted acres on the estate site. Wanting to craft wines on par with the quality and refinement that are so integral to Bordeaux, Jesse set roots in Sonoma, believing it offers the best of both worlds: new world fruit and old-world elegance.
This light-bodied white wine grape has zest and versatility depending on its style. It is grown extensively in South Africa, where wineries produce dry wines. Traditional French Chenin Blancs are sweet. It is closest to Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
