Cassis, kirsch and star anise on the nose. The palate is oily, glossy and full bodied but the fruit and soft tannins do find balance.
Primary, spice-tinged cherry, blueberry, espresso, vanilla and floral aromas pick up a smoky accent with air. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter cherry, dark berry, mocha and cola flavors and a spicy jolt of cracked pepper. Dusty tannins build steadily through a spice- and floral-driven finish that lingers with superb tenacity.
