...toasty, leesy and custardy, with overtones of citrus and white peaches...medium to full-bodied, plump, round and generous, with cream and citrus notes lingering on the prolonged finish.

This seamlessness version is impressive for its aromatics and generosity, with ripe peach, apricot preserves, orange blossom and lemon blossom flavors, plus a hint of salted, buttery shortbread. Shows a candied ginger accent on the long, juicy finish.

...laced with lemon confit, jasmine, spice, light pastry notes and a discreet touch of oak. It offers lovely mid-palate creaminess and richness to fill out its mid-weight frame.

Frank Family Vineyards

Frank Family Vineyards was founded in 2007 when former Disney executive Rich Frank purchased the Kornell Champagne Cellars in Calistoga, Napa Valley. The winemaker is Todd Graff, who worked in Europe and at such Napa Valley estates as Stag’s Leap and Schramsberg before joining Frank Family Vineyards. The winery’s nearly 200 acres of vineyards our located in Rutherford, Carneros and just east of the Vaca Mountain range. The locations are among the most prestigious in the area. Frank Family produces Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir, but is best known for its Cabernet Sauvignons, including some highly limited production Cabs that are made available only to the estate’s mailing list.

Carneros AVA, also known as Los Carneros, is at the southern end of the Napa and Sonoma Valleys at the top of the San Francisco Bay. The 8,000 vineyard acres are mostly planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which thrive in the district’s cool, marine climate. Carneros became an AVA in 1983 and it has attracted foreign wine companies along with local producers. It has been especially appealing to European producers of sparkling wines including the giant Spanish cava producers Codorniu and Frexinet, and the French Champagne house Taittinger. Codorniu in Carneros is called Artesa, and Frexinet’s Carneros brand is Gloria Ferrer. Taittinger calls its Carneros winery Domaine Carneros. The European producers also make still wines in Carneros.
