RATINGS

98Vinous / IWC

Dark cherry, plum, rose petal, spice and mocha all build in a pliant, wonderfully expressive Cabernet that hits all the right notes.

97+ Jeb Dunnuck

Cassis, currants, Griotte cherries, graphite, Mediterranean herbs, and even a hint of iron define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied and pure, with ultra-fine tannins and a gorgeous finish.

96Wine Spectator

...sleek in feel, with a pinpoint structure coursing underneath vivid notes of black cherry, black currant and blackberry coulis. Violet, sweet tobacco and savory details peek in on the finish alongside a focusing iron spine...

95The Wine Advocate

...ample cassis and cherry fruit, plus delicate herbal-floral flourishes. In the mouth, the wine is medium to full-bodied, silky textured and plush, but it remains streamlined in shape, with a long, easy-to-enjoy finish.

REGION

United States, California, Napa Valley, Yountville

Yountville AVA is just west of Stags Leap and north of Oak Knoll. It is centered around the town of Yountville, named for George Yountville, who planted the area’s first vineyard in 1836. The district received appellation status in 1999 and it includes 4,000 vineyard acres. It is known for tannic Cabernet Sauvignon that has a reputation for aging well. Dominus Estate, formerly Napanook Vineyard, is one of the most prestigious producers in Yountville, and in all of Napa Valley.

TYPE

Red Wine, Cabernet Sauvignon

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
