RATINGS

97Vinous / IWC

...superb. A rich, explosive wine, the 2019 possesses stunning richness from start to finish.

96The Wine Advocate

Loam and cedar-mulch notes appear on the nose, but as accidents to cherries and redcurrants, with just hints of cassis. Full-bodied and marked by silky-velvety richness, the wine finishes with impressive plushness and length.

95+ Jeb Dunnuck

...pure currant and cassis fruits as well as crushed stone, lead pencil, and damp earth...medium to full-bodied, has good acidity, ripe tannins, and beautiful balance.

94James Suckling

A fragrant nose of blackberries, dark cherries, mushrooms, mocha and baking spices. Full body with fine tannins. Rich and creamy with plenty of chocolate and fruity character. Flavorful, spicy finish with excellent length.

91Wine Spectator

Juicy and direct, with red cherry and red currant paste notes wrapped around hints of warm earth, red licorice and tobacco. Shows light-handed toast, allowing the fruit and earth elements to hold center stage through the finish.

One of the most widely grown grape varieties, it can be found in nearly every wine growing region. A cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It’s a hardy vine that produces a full-bodied wine with high tannins and great aging potential.
