RATINGS

92-94The Wine Advocate

...blackberry and cassis, touches of iodine...palate is medium-bodied and very harmonious, silky to the touch, with lacy tannin and not a hair out of place on the finish.

90-92Stephen Tanzer

Sexy gamey reduction to the aromas of raspberry and sweet, smoky oak. Plush and pliant but not especially sweet, showing soil-driven flavors of red berries, underbrush and saline minerality. The tannins are fine-grained but this wine is very hard to taste today owing to its reductive character.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanee, Les Petits Monts

Les Petits Monts is a 9-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Vosne-Romanee appellation of Burgundy’s Cote de Nuits. This small vineyard is divided up into about 20 individually-owned parcels.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
