RATINGS

93Wine Enthusiast

Optimal ripeness in this vintage adds power and depth to the classic black-cherry flavors..fruit is framed with bright, citrus-infused acids leaning toward tangerine. The tannins have a touch of clay and finish with a burst of chamomile tea.

92Vinous / IWC

Ripe red and dark berries, candied flowers and allspice on the fragrant nose, along with cola and smoky mineral nuances. Juicy and animated on the palate, showing very good energy to the raspberry, boysenberry and spicecake flavors. Deepens with air and finishes on a spicy note, with discreet tannins and repeating florality.

92Burghound.com

...nose is cool and elegant with its perfumed array of red currant, plum and discreet violet wisps. The sleek, refined and highly energetic medium-bodied flavors possess a really lovely, even sophisticated, texture that carries over to the compact, complex and balanced finale. Excellent...

92James Suckling

A lovely nose of rose, red cherry and thyme. Medium-bodied with fine, slightly chewy tannins. Well structured, with delicate red-fruit and floral character. Very steady and persistent.

91Wine Spectator

Vibrant and sleek, with layered guava and raspberry flavors, which take on accents of spiced tea and forest floor and finish with medium-grained tannins.

REGION

United States, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills

Dundee Hills AVA is in Yamhill County, and it is entirely contained within the Willamette Valley AVA, Oregon’s best known appellation. Dundee Hills is about 30 miles southwest of Portland, and has 1,300 vineyard acres. It was awarded AVA status in 2004 and, like much of Oregon, is known for Pinot Noir. Several of Oregon’s 20th century wine pioneers established their vineyards and wineries in Dundee Hills, adding to its status as a region long-recognized for producing high quality, iconic Oregon wines. Eyrie Vineyards, Erath Winery and Sokol Blosser remain some of Oregon’s most celebrated producers, and all were founded in what is now Dundee Hills in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
