...characterized by charcuterie, spice box and cedar, not to mention incense and sour cherries. A very taut, medium-to full-bodied palate follows, where the acidity is the driving factor, cutting through layers of vibrant red fruit and tightening the firm tannins. Dark-chocolate on the finish.
...hint of tobacco and smoke here, but mostly it's a surprisingly simple, clean and one-dimensional wine for the year and for this part of the Barolo appellation. Still, it's a lean Barolo that could pair nicely with, say, a tagliata di manzo on top of radicchio.
