RATINGS

95Wine Spectator

Expressive, featuring aromas and flavors of peach, lime blossoms, oyster shell, lemon and stone. Complex and taut, this unfurls slowly to a detailed and spicy aftertaste. Stays defined, courtesy of vivid acidity, while the mineral and toasty spice elements grace the long finish.

93The Wine Advocate

...aromas of citrus oil, Anjou pear, green apple, white flowers and pastry cream...medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a seamless, racy profile and a bright, saline finish.

17.5Jancis Robinson

Citrus and apple, with that oak spice all in a muscular format with a rich texture and substantial length.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet, Les Folatieres

Les Folatieres is a 43-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the appellation of Puligny-Montrachet, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It is nearly in the center of the Premier Crus and is the largest Premier Cru in Puligny-Montrachet. Burgundy writer Clive Coates has written that “Les Folatieres is a fullish, meaty, mineral wine with plenty of weight of fruit and good grip – a typical Puligny premier cru in fact.”

TYPE

White Wine, Chardonnay, 1er (Premier) Cru

This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
