A gorgeous effort, it boasts more red fruit than I expected, with ripe cherries and even a touch of raspberries, accented by subtle herb shadings, with underlying notes of loamy earth, dark chocolate and cassis. Full-bodied, it's more silky than velvety, while being fully ripe and polished, with a long-lingering finish.
Well-packed, with blackberry, mulberry and black currant notes carried by brambly grip. Juicy throughout, with abundant anise, chaparral and violet accents spilling in on the finish. Maintains cut and detail, too.
