...white peach, lemon, lime, white pepper and herbs. Strong on the attack, then fine-grained in the mid-palate, conveying an impression of weightlessness. A very fresh, mineral-driven Genevrières with the balance for mid-term aging. Finishes tactile and vibrant, with lingering notes of lemon, lime and crushed stone.

The palate is quite powerful and intense with hints of peppermint infusing the citrus fruit on the entry that is slightly mellifluous in texture with a spicy, quite long finish.

Domaine Antoine Jobard is a 15-acre estate in Meursault, Burgundy. Burgundy expert Clive Coates has called it “one of the great Meursault estates.” And Robert M. Parker Jr. notes that the estate “has long been known for crafting clear, complex, age-worthy Meursault.” Francois Jobard still works in the operation but the name on the bottles now is that of his son, Antoine. Known for their Meursault, they also have parcels in Puligny-Montrachet. About 3,000 cases are produced annually.

Les Genevrieres is 41-acre Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. It is in the southern part of the appellation, and just to the north of Les Perrieres and Les Charmes. Burgundy writer Clive Coates says that “Genevrieres is an opulent, even exotic wine. It is rounder than Perrieres and if not fuller, then certainly lusher…Here flavors are muskier, and there can be an element of citrus.” Since Meursault lacks a Grand Cru, Meursault’s reputation for excellence is based on the Premier Crus, particularly the whites.
