RATINGS

93James Suckling

This has a very complex array of blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry aromas, delivered in quite a pure mode. The palate has a beautifully succulent feel and mouthwatering, fresh ripe-cherries. Super pure and focused.

92The Wine Advocate

...scented of red and black cherries, dried herbs, dusty earth, blackberries, stewed black tea leaves and potpourri with woodsmoke and bergamot emerging over time. Light to medium-bodied with slowly evolving fruits and spices, it's framed by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and spicy.

92Vinous / IWC

Dried flowers, mint, crushed flowers, spice and cedar give the 2017 lovely aromatic top notes.

92Wine Enthusiast

Generous, fruity and gentle, this full-flavored wine boasts dark cherries, blueberries, accents of baking spices and a very smooth, rich texture that seems to melt on the palate.

REGION

United States, California, Sonoma, Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast AVA runs from San Pablo Bay in the south to Mendocino County in the north. It includes 7,000 vineyard acres and earned AVA status in 1987. Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean means it gets double the rainfall of nearby inland appellations and the ocean gives the appellation a relatively cool climate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can thrive in these conditions, and there are numerous producers making critically acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
