Son of famed Burgundy vigneron Vincent Girardin, Pierre Girardin made a splash in Burgundy and oenophile circles with the release of his inaugural wines from the 2017 vintage. The Pierre Girardin wines hail from estate vineyards in Burgundy as well as from grapes procured from a selection of famed terroirs including Le Montrachet and Clos Vougeot, as well as small lots of Corton-Charlemagne, Corton, Batard Montrachet, Chevalier-Montrachet, and others. Pierre is the 13th generation to produce wine and has impressed collectors and reviewers alike with his deft winemaking touch at such a young age. Buy Pierre Girardin wine on WineBid today!
Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is a 39.5-acre Premier Cru vineyard in the Saint-Aubin appellation, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Saint-Aubin has no Grand Crus, but there are 29 Premier Crus planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Les Murgers des Dents de Chien is on the eastern edge of the appellation and borders Puligny-Montrachet. Wine writers note that although the appellation of Saint-Aubin was in the past typically not given much attention by wine collectors, in recent decades it has been increasingly noted for the high quality of its wines.
This white variety originated in Burgundy, but is now grown around the world. Its flexibility to thrive in many regions translates to wide flavor profile in the market. Chardonnay is commonly used in making Champagne and sparkling wines.
