RATINGS

94The Wine Advocate

...features the most gorgeous nose of wilted roses, violets and chocolate box with a core of redcurrants, red and black cherries and warm raspberries with touches of forest floor, fungi and oolong tea. Medium-bodied, the palate has a beautiful frame of exquisitely fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness delivering layers of red berry and earthy notions, finishing long and fragrant.

94Jeb Dunnuck

...smoking good...has classic notes of kirsch, blackberries, toasted spice, forest floor, and leafy herbs. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, texture yet also fresh and vibrant...

92Wine Spectator

Focused, powerful and juicy, with graphite notes shouldering the cherry and dried berry flavors. Herbal accents linger on the finish, showing peppery hints.

PRODUCER

Flowers

Flowers Vineyard & Winery is a 321-acre estate on a ridge on the northern Sonoma Coast. It was established in 1989 when Walt and Joan Flowers purchased the land. The Flowers had owned a nursery in Pennsylvania, but had long wanted to combine their love of agriculture with their interest in winemaking. The estate makes Pinot Noir and Chardonnay only, using organic and sustainable farming practices. Wine reviewers have given the wines high compliments. Matt Kramer of Wine Spectator has written that Flowers wines are among a small group of U.S. Pinot Noirs that are approaching Burgundian Grand Cru-like quality.

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
